Burn Notice 5.04: "No Good Deed"
Jul. 14th, 2011 09:24 pmNICE. For most of the episode, I was thinking it was fairly run of the mill; though the case involving computer crime was nifty, I found it a little hard to follow, and kept wishing I were watching on DVD so I could rewind to pertinent info. And then someone killed Max and tried to frame Michael. Oh, Burn Notice, I love you and your twists! Although I guess Max was never long for this world, as it does seem that everyone outside of the regulars who tries to help Michael with his burn notice stuff winds up dead about four episodes after they show up. Still, that was an inventive way using his murder to draw Michael further into things rather than as some kind of scare tactic.
Naturally, my suspicions are of Management's organization, as I'm sure everyone else's are. (Heh, did anyone really think Mikey was actually being paranoid instead of rightfully cautious when he kept worrying at the burn notice stuff last week?) Although perhaps there is some evil within the CIA itself. Honestly, for the first half of the episode I was kind of wondering if Max wasn't going to turn out to be a bad guy, but apparently not.
Little things:
- I always love Barry, so it was nice to see him again. And he has completely normal (and entertaining!) sibling rivalry with his brother, ha!
- Fi's inventive way of getting Sam to help cracked me the hell up.
- "It's called research, big boy. Knowledge is power." Hee, Jesse.
- "Things have a tendency to blow up when you're around."
- "I got friends for that." ♥ Team! :D
- Awww, Michael finished the shelf! And Fi's putting her snow globes on it. Since she had so many, I guess they survived her apartment blowing up last season. (Now taking bets on the season or mid-season finale featuring an epic blowing-up of the loft, with much flying glass and fake snow.)
- And she's redecorated, too. The loft looks reasonably livable now!
- Hmmm, the secure room was 99F. Good thing neither Max nor Michael were running fevers. (Also, heh at Michael immediately coming up with the "break the AC" solution and Max being kind of nonplussed.)
- I'm gonna bet that job they pulled to get the Swedish info from the French is going to come back around and be important.
- FINALLY someone on this show wipes prints off of things they touched! Too bad it took being framed for a murder...
- The Charger was still looking pretty sad when Michael was working on it earlier this ep. How did it look and work so well at the end?
