Wait...what?

[Joshua] Jackson is genuinely touched by the fan support "Fringe" receives and has become so attached to Peter, he's dreamt up "tons and tons and tons" of story ideas and plot points to further flesh out the character.

So he wrote Fringe fanfic in the form of a comic book series. Bwahaha! He is such a fanboy! I don't usually care about actors, but I might have to love this guy a little bit.

There are dinosaurs, among other things. It seems that there are two timelines: one (with dinosaurs) that fills in the blanks about how Peter and Walter time-traveled to get the Machine parts and First People book in the right place, and another in...I dunno, Greenverse or something where the native Peter never died, and now that he's a teenager (a really dorky teenager), he "escapes his father for a 'night on the town,'" where he runs into teenage!Olivia. This storyline is written by someone else. Relevant cap.

...Yeah, I figured that last one was worth 99 cents even though I don't like comics, so I downloaded it. It's...really bad. Worse than I was expecting even given that it's a TV tie-in and those are almost never good. Although I do feel like the image of teenage!Olivia kicking a drunk Harvard fratboy in the face with her big, clunky Doc Martens while teenage!Peter looks on all lovestruck is probably worth what I paid for it.

WHAT IF HE POSTS FANFIC ONLINE UNDER A PEN NAME.

THIS CAN ONLY BE TRUE!

I... may have read through all of the comics tonight? The Olivia one was sadly awful, yes, but the dinosaur ones by Josh Jackson were less bad. I'm enjoying the unlimited special effects budget, anyway. (There are going to be something like 7 parts to both arcs, apparently?) THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THERE IS NO NEW FRINGE, ARG.

Were they worth spending money on?

Unlike the Olivia ones, I did not immediately long for a refund of my 99 cents. JJ has kind of a really good ear for Walter's voice...

It did seem to involve a lot of things that would be very expensive to film, yes...

Peter petting a brontosaurus! And... dogsledding across eighteenth-century Tibet with a Sam Weiss? (Or maybe the Sam Weiss? It was inconclusive.)

WE HAVE TO FILL THE HOLE WITH INFERIOR PRODUCTS!

Awww, there's a Fringe-shaped hole in our Fridays!

but I'm happy to know they aren't as dire!

Hooray, Joshua Jackson isn't a Stephenie Meyer!

Because he wanted to be one when he was 9!

THAT LINE IS STILL AWESOME.

...

He was planting Machine bits! Eighteenth-century Tibet didn't have snowmobiles! ...I'm not sure why it had Sam Weisses, though.

I was actually thinking all the Sam Weisses Sam mentioned were clones...

I was thinking he was immortal and just cagey about it, but now that you mention it, clones would be a little more plausible...
