Noooo, I sat outside with my co-workers for twenty minutes at lunch today and now I am crispy and red and sore all across my shoulders and on my forearms. :( Okay, sure, it was in the low nineties today (whyyyyyyy is it so hot in EARLY MAY, argh), but still. TWENTY. MINUTES. AND THEN I TURNED INTO A LOBSTER.

Back to the break room tomorrow, I think.

Unfortunately, no. Although it honestly doesn't help me very much...I tend to burn through even the high SPF stuff in, like, thirty minutes. But usually even without it I can do okay for fifteen minutes, and only be slightly crispy at twenty instead of full-on red. Maybe it was because I was sitting on white stone steps, with a big white stone building behind me to reflect all the rays right at my shoulders or something...

But how would I hold it and still have hands enough to each lunch with? What I need to do is just stay indoors, or at least in the shade...

I have soooooooooo been there. My intense sympathies. Aloe vera is the white-white-white-white-white girl's friend.

It's been so long since I was out in the sun for any appreciable length of time (I was maybe twenty-one?), that I had forgotten how quickly it works. :(

I have some aloe vera and lidocaine gel...although I bought it when I got burnt in Arizona in 2004, so it's rather past its expiration date...

Meh, as far as I know that stuff doesn't really go bad, at least the aloe vera. It's just to soothe and cool the burn, so... unless it looks or smells really gross, I say go ahead and use it. *Shrugs* My bottle is positively ancient - even though I tend to burn myself about once a year, it tends to just be in some small stupid place that I forgot to sunscreen. And it was a huuuuuuge bottle. when I bought it. :P

Mine has gotten kind of sticky, like the moisture's starting to go out of it. Ah, well; I've progressed past pain and into itching now anyway. It'll be a fun weekend.

Yeouch. The aloe should help with that, too, but... yeah, sounds like you might need a new bottle. :( I hope you feel better!!!

(And, since I keep forgetting to mention it, I second the parasol recommendation! My old roommate and I found a pair at an antique store ages ago, and we love them during the summer!)
