Fringe 4.12: "Welcome to Westfield"
Feb. 10th, 2012 09:27 pmEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Yeah, so, that left me dancing around with hearts in my eyes. Eeeeee! Olivia remembers! BLUE IS BACK!
And even before that, it felt like old times in the lab with the cinnamon roll cocktail mixing. As did the episode being blessedly Lincoln-free. Not to mention Walter showing up at the fringe event, which suggests he's also remembering things, even if not as much as Olivia. Oh, and the bit where he and Peter were thinking totally in unison!
I wonder what triggered it--Jones's destruction of the town, presumably? (If so, why didn't Walter get his memories back? Cortexiphan? Although I wondered last week, during the part where Peter was doing exactly what Walter was going to suggest, if there might be some Blue returning. Maybe he's just on a more extended timetable than Olivia?) Speaking of which, I suppose the simple explanation is that Jones really did merge Amberverse and Redverse in Westfield, but I do wonder if he was actually merging Amberverse and Blueverse (which might better explain how it gave Olivia her memories back, if indeed it did). Although since he didn't recognize Peter, he probably has no idea Blueverse even exists. We'll go with merging Amber and Red.
Now I'm curious if Olivia's dream was a dream or a memory. I got the impression the "I love you" in "Last Sam Weiss" was the first time she'd said it, so...dream? Unless she too is somehow remembering Blueverse post-Peter getting in the machine? Which wouldn't make any sense, so...dream. It's kind of awesome that Amberlivia was dreaming about that so specifically, since it was shown to be such a huge deal for Bluelivia to say.
Anyway, shorter things:
I think the key thing to take away from this entire show is DO NOT FLY IN FRINGEVERSE, IT WILL END IN A BALL OF FLAMES. This is, what, the fourth or fifth time a plane has gone down on the show?
Peter got a decent, not-ugly coat! Hooray!
*cheers at Olivia saving Walter and Peter at the Pie and Homicide Cafe*
Haha, just when I was thinking that this episode felt an awful lot like "Johari Window," Olivia says it reminds her of Edina! When technically Edina never even happened to her!
"It feels like there's someone else in my head." Question is, is Bluelivia going to completely take over Amberlivia? (At this point, I would be okay with that, actually. Though I do hope there'll be some kind of merging.)
Awww, Olivia gave Peter a place to call home.
Awwwww, weekly Friday night horror films and takeout! Because they don't see enough horrifying things on a daily basis in their lives!
*sporfle* Of course Walter would find the PA.
And yay, we're back to the Jones plot! I admit, I was underwhelmed by his return, but this is intriguing. Is he trying to cause another apocalypse? (Also, why was there no mention of the other place where the universes have merged, i.e., the bridge room?)
Heeeee, Walter got to use his pepper spray!
Awww, crepes! And Walter doesn't want Peter to go back to his home universe! Awww!
I was terrified, when Peter came to Olivia's apartment and she was pouring wine and everything, that she was going to say, "GTFO, Lincoln's coming over." Thankfully I was wrong.
EEEEEE THAT LAST MINUTE, I MUST WATCH IT A MILLION TIMES AND FLAIL!!!!
