Castle: "47 Seconds"

I missed the last couple episodes, but I watched this one for the heck of it. It...could've been worse? I was glad they forestalled the playing out of the "we may die at any moment, so let us frolic!" plot with Castle uncovering Beckett's lie, but a.) even though the audience knows she wasn't, it's entirely plausible that she could've been making that up for the suspect's benefit, so way to go on not actually saying anything, Castle, and b.) you can hardly throw stones at her when you've got your own secrets and lies going on.
On the other hand, all his pointed barbs about silence and amnesia and lying were kind of entertaining. Obvious, but worth a chuckle or two.
I did enjoy Martha's, "If she's not into you by now, she never will be, so for the love of God will you say something?" Also, shockingly, Gates did not get on my last nerve. The case was all right, too.
Next week, Beckett worries over whether she should tell Castle how she feels; meanwhile, Castle has a new blonde girlfriend. I'm sorry, did we timewarp back to the end of season two? This all feels very familiar.
