After watching the ep, Meg, Ellen and I were trying to determine when Vaughn and Lauren's marriage would go down the tubes. Common consesus was that something major related to Sydney/Vaughn would happen in February, and then there would be a big cliffhanger (either S/V or with Vaughn and Wifey) in May.

Of course, they first have to do something with the Sydney/Weiss vibe they've been setting up. I was thinking have them be falling into bed (probably drunk) and Vaughn calls/walks in and is so totally not happy. And while we have all this debauchery going on, hey, let's add in Vaughn/Weiss, just because it would be amusing. (Okay, I was the only proponent of that. alethialia, I think I've been hanging around you too long.)

Then we decided that aliens should invade for the season finale. And Sark is their leader. Hehehe.

It is so time for bed.

None of the spoilers I've read have said much about this. So far as I know the character is still in the show, so maybe they won't actually break up at all? Maybe she chooses to help Vaughn save Syd? What happens then? (I'm really just speculating here, not spoiling.)

I have heard that we finally find out what happened to Syd in the season finale. I think that will overshadow the Sark invasion.

That late? Really? I would think we'd maybe be getting the very last little pieces of info by the end of the season, but most of the big stuff would be cleared up by March or so.

I think that will overshadow the Sark invasion.

It looks a little conflicting. Some sources say they're still together by episode 10, others say something happens sooner. Melissa George has definitely signed for a full season though, so I'm not sure what happens to her if they split.

I believe there is some big stuff coming around episode 10 or 12, but JJ Abrams is a master at keeping you guessing until the end, so it wouldn't surprise me that we have to wait for the end of the season.

I've heard conflicting reports, and the press conference about it has been put off indefinitely. It wasn't so much the ending that was like to send me to a psychiatrist, but the show in general...DK's writing in general...all the heartbreaking turns and really, really bad mental images and such. But yes, a miniseries would be nice. Not as nice as season 5, but nice. :)

Sucks that the press conference has been postponed. I know I read that Ben Browder had been at a fan thing and had been specifically told not to discuss any future of the show, which would seem to indicate something had been happening. It's just disappointing that they can't seem to do anything more with this.

And yes, I have to agree about the bad mental images, particularly in S3 and S4, and all the heartwrenching turns. I'd like to think it might have ended up a little lighter, they did have plans mapped out through an S7, but I guess we'll never know.

They had plans through a season 7? Really? All I ever heard was through S5, but then again, I was pretty busy with school for the last half of S4.

I hear whisperings that most/all of the actors have been asked to clear their schedules for this Dec. - Jan., and that there will possibly be some sort of announcement by people in charge tomorrow at the Burbank con. We'll see...

When the first edition of Farscape magazine came out, David Kemper making comments that he thought the show could last 7 seasons, and that he had ideas that could take it that far. The contract with SciFi was only through S5 though, which is how long they thought it was going to last.

I've heard whisperings for a while. Here's hoping!

I vaguely remember that S7 comment. I think it was overwritten in my brain by the we-have-five-seasons-we'll-plan-five-seasons thing. (Yes, my brain is like a hard drive. ;))

I'm hearing lots more whisperings about the potential for a miniseries...apparently Rockne O'Bannon showed up at the Burbank con and said that things were afoot, but he couldn't talk much. DK and Brian Henson are in Sydney working on a "special project." Wheeee!

Well I certainly live in hope that they'll wrap it up somehow, because the way they left it was really giving the proverbial finger to SciFi. Do you happen to know if they redid the ending because of SciFi cancelling the show?

I believe that they wrote the ending the way it was before news of the cancelation reached Australia. They were given the option/time to change it, but DK/RO'B decided to leave it as it was, whether to give the finger to Sci-Fi, not compromise their artistic vision, or give the fans hope/nightmares. Probably some combination of all three. ;)

Once I got over my shock at the ending, I realized that really, it's quintessential Farscape. Ending on a serious twist? Totally in tune with how the show had been going for the past four years. It was always different and willing to take huge risks, and this was just the latest--would the fans hate them? Would they ever get a chance to resolve what happened?

Plus, dude. Most TV characters are like cockroaches. Granted, Farscape was better at the believability than most, but still. Main characters hardly ever die. ;)
