Okay, Castle. You win. I am thoroughly charmed by Castle and Beckett together, and--as long as you let Elizabeth Beall (I assume a relative of Will Beall?) write many episodes--I actually have faith in you to keep it charming and adorable. It's like a giant weight has been lifted off the show by not having to drag around the UST boulder anymore. GEE, WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT?
The "OMG we must hide our relationship!" shenanigans were childish, and the parallels between Castle/Beckett and the case were too on the nose, but I don't even care, because there was Kate trying not to smile at Rick playing with the weather green screen while she was on the phone, and also her frustrated little "say noooo!" monologue when the reporter asked him out. Not to mention her calling him on just wanting her to take her shirt off again at the beginning, and him suggesting the pants come off too. A. Dor. A. Bul.
The bit where Castle agreed to date the reporter because it would make it look like he and Beckett aren't together and it inevitably ends up with jealousy was even handled with as much finesse as that situation is possible to be handled with, since it turned into an actual discussion between them, holy cow, haven't seen that in a long time.
And apparently there was a case, too, but I stopped caring about those long ago. Except I...don't think that's how weather forecasting works behind the scenes, though I could be wrong. Nevertheless. Also, Rebecca Fogg: please, please, please tell me someone behind the scenes was a fan of The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne back in the day!
