They strike me as the new Rahkamo & Kokko, a bit. Maybe less srs bsns.
(I think it's kind of hilarious that practically the first ice dance team I stumble onto after ten years away, and certainly the first one I actually like, is yet another international team consisting of a Russian and a non-Russian. Maybe it's just the high preponderance of Russian dancers skating for other countries, but my three favorites--by far--back when I last paid attention to this sport were also that combination. Perhaps I should just start looking for them from the get-go.)
You have the ability to zero in; I think they're pretty much the only such team at the top level right now(unless you count Ekaterina Pushkash & Jonathan Gurreiro, and they skate for Russia and languish in their lower ranks). Unless you're willing to expand to Ukrainians, in which case there's Alisa Agafonova & Alcar Ucar skating for Turkey.
...Hilariously, Jonathan Gurreiro is the son of the former partner of one of the people in the international teams I used to love. Oh, skating world, so small and incestuous.
Maybe I will expand to Ukrainians! I just can't get excited about any of the American teams, which is a shame since Americans are, like winning Worlds and medals and stuff, which was so not the case 10-15 years ago!
