icepixie | Three things make a post

Back from Chicago! Saw pretty things! Saw Whitney get married! Hung out with Pezzers! Yay! Pictures forthcoming...later. This weekend, I think.

One of the things we did in Chicago was watch the first episode of Sleepy Hollow. It's kind of ridiculous, melodramatic, and illogical, and it has cancellation bait written all over it, and yet...I kind of liked it. (P.S. OH GOD THAT THING AT THE END WITH THE MIRROR. NIGHTMARE FUEL.) I liked it enough that I plan to watch the second episode when I make the time, probably also this weekend.

Today at practice I finally managed a few left forward inside open mohawks! I could do right mohawks with tolerable consistency, but the right side had been confounding me for a week. (In my defense, you have to turn clockwise for it, and CCW is my natural inclination.) I love those moments when, after twenty bad tries, all the pieces of where each part of the body should be and what it should be doing finally come together in this one magical whole.

That thing at the end with the mirror was surprisingly effective, wasn't it? It was a different kind of scare than anything else they'd done in the episode, which made it work that much more.

It was all pretty silly, but I liked Abbie and Ichabod, so... *shrug*. I'll keep watching for a bit, anyway. Though I'm with some of the other people I've seen on my flist: I'd totally watch the Abbie Catches Ichabod Up On Everything He Missed show.

The mirror bit was the one scare they didn't telegraph about three seconds in advance, I thought. (Not that I mind the telegraphing. It helps me sleep at night.) Plus, mirrors already creep me out...I think I heard about the Bloody Mary mirror game at a much too impressionable age.
