Fairly useless entry

Nine more days of classes. I'd like to be happy, but unfortunately, that means that I only have sixteen more days to do the final paper for Irish. Eeek.

*points to "current music" field* I wanna watch Northern Exposure now. Wish I had my tapes here... Oh, and Jon Stout has Twin Peaks DVDs. I may have to borrow them once Russell's done. Mmmm...the weirdness that is David Lynch, which equals creepy NX on crack. Woo-hoo.

In honor of Christmas, I changed my desktop picture to my holiday-ish one. Lookie.

And after this brief interlude, it's back to my history paper. I'm halfway done...

I think that's more of a snooty English major thing.

But...but...but he's a Nobel Prizewinner! He's quoted all over the place! He's practically Ireland's permanent poet laureate! Everyone's senior English class studies him!

Then again, something like half of American high school students can't even recognize the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution when it's read to them. I suppose I'm asking too much.

And calling people "dude" makes me feel ancient! ;)

Have to say that for all his Nobel Laureateness, I never studied him in school. In the last two years of high school we did STC and Kenneth Slessor. (Slessor is an Australian)

And the final external exam was on, you guessed it, The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner! Let's just say I decided not to answer that question. Fortunately, there were about 6 options and we only had to answer 4.

Coleridge is just...bleh. I love those tests with lots of options like that. :)
