icepixieSo...the show kind of went there with McMurphy and Richard, didn't it? I was a little confused when she didn't give him a "What the hell do you think you're doing?" scowl but rather a vaguely doe-eyed look of bewilderment when he ambushed her with the mistletoe at the beginning, but I have to admit a tiny part of me perked up and went, "I don't ship it, but the hatesex would be GLORIOUS and also hilarious because they would snark at each other the entire time before agreeing to forget it had ever happened."
And then they had that moment under the mistletoe right before the party that only ended when they got interrupted rather than in both of them going "...Nah," and my nascent interest recoiled in horror and went straight to NOPE NOPE NOPE. There should be nothing more between them than professional respect, personal ribbing, a pinch of concern for fellow human beings, and Richard's affable sexism coupled with McMurphy's verbal bitchslapping. Anything else and the world is thrown off-kilter.
...That said, I would probably still read hilarious hatesex fic if there's any to be found. Not that there seems to be much fic out there, period. Alas.
Other nice parts of that episode: The heavily implied gay relationship between the Jewish soldier who died and his platoon buddy, the manufactured snow, Santa randomly shooting guns and grenade launchers for no good reason, and that monkey. Specifically, McMurphy and that monkey. I'm not much for monkeys, never have thought they're cute, but that was adorable. "How much penicillin do you give a monkey?"
In other news, Wayloo Marie is driving me up a goddamn wall, which I suppose she is meant to, and she is doing it very well. Frankie I like very much and want to see more of. I especially want to see her and KC in a scene or three together. I suspect they would be awesome.

I was trying to be good and avoid too many spoilers, since I know the series, like Billy Pilgrim, becomes unstuck in time later and I'm sure there are all kinds of revelations. But. I inadvertently googled, and, well.
...okay. Maybe they'll convince me.Maybe pigs will fly.
