Oh, excellent. To be entirely honest, that was borne basically of me saying, "Oh, god, I am so tired of tracking down shots for all these short little clips I'm using. Ah, the hell with it, it's the bridge, I can just use something long and lingering." Yeah, there was a thematic purpose to it as well, but it was just as much a product of laziness as anything else. ;)
loved her spray painting a name on what looked like a memorial wall at "I will write this down."
Thanks! The show actually has the characters go to the Vietnam Wall in the late 80s (episodes jump around a lot in time in the last season), and I cannot tell you how tempted I was to cut immediately to a shot of them all, 20 years older, at the real Wall. So. Tempted. But I also figured that was a bit cheesy and obvious, so I resisted.
The "why do we drink? / I guess we do it 'cause" section with the bloody hand holding dog tags was just wrenching
Good to hear--I was hunting a while for a place to put that shot, because it just had to be used in this vid.
I will totally look into the show, it seems pretty great.
Yay! I didn't expect anyone unfamiliar with the show to check this out, so I'm genuinely excited. :) It is such a great show. Amazingly well-developed characters, really tight writing, incredible emotional moments...be prepared to have your heart broken over and over again, in the best possible ways.
