From [livejournal.com profile] suzvoy:

1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?

Went to Chicago for SC2K3. Wasn't my first ScaperCon, but it was my first time in Chicago. Not that Ia ctually saw anything but O'Hare, the hotel, and various fast food restaraunts, but hey... ;)

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Didn't make any. Don't plan on making any.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

*thinks* I don't think so...

4. Did anyone close to you die?

No.

5. What countries did you visit?

Does Ohio count? Sometimes it feels like a different country...

6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?

Um. To be abroad? (Y'know, I have trouble thinking of 2003 as a complete unit. Am far, far too used to the school year way of marking years.)

7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

I honestly have no idea. Maybe March 31, 'cause it was when I made my first LJ post, thus moving myself over from DeadJournal?

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Finishing that 23-page history paper last semester and the 14-page English paper this semester! Hmmm...well, perhaps getting into the poetry and fiction workshops overshadows those. Yeah, I think it does.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Am still a little disappointed about not making Chamber Singers. Kind of. Not really.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

My tailbone informed me this year that, yes, last December I actually did break it. Had that flu/cold business the week before last...strep throat last April...

11. What was the best thing you bought?

Um. The Fisher CDs?

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

My friends, of course.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

Ballroom in general. Hannah in particular at nationals.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Books.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

ScaperCon, ROTK, winter break, summer vacation...

16. What song will always remind you of 2003?

The Cell Block Tango from Chicago.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

i. happier or sadder? About the same
ii. thinner or fatter? Perhaps a few more pounds. But mostly the same.
iii. richer or poorer? Richer by $60 from the writing center job.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Writing.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Worrying.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

At home with the parents.

22. Did you fall in love in 2003?

No.

23. How many one-night stands?

Zip.

24. What was your favorite TV program?

Really, really, really got into Stargate over the summer. Farscape, definitely, for its last half season in the spring. Alias since October or so.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

Dislike mightily? Oh, yes. Many ballroom people.

26. What was the best book you read?

I think I read ROTK after 2003 started. But also Sarah Zettel's A Sorcerer's Treason, Tony Horwitz's Confederates in the Attic, Dune, Rob Roy...

27. What was your greatest musical (re)discovery?

Fisher and October Project

28. What did you want and get?

A 3.5 GPA last semester.

29. What did you want and not get?

A good poetry class.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?

ROTK, Pirates.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I was 19, and Whitney gave me something really special: she got her senior composition major friend to set one of my poems to music, then had one of her senior voice major friends to sing it. So cool.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Tons of cash? It was a pretty good year, I thought. Well, an A in my English class last semester would've been satisfying.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?

Um...jeans?

34. What kept you sane?

Sane? Are you implying that I'm sane?

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Much as I despise the fangirls, I'm gonna go with Orlando Bloom-as-Legolas.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

Absolutely nothing.

37. Who did you miss?

[livejournal.com profile] fiara

38. Who was the best new person you met?

My roommate.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003:

The less you care about your English essays, the higher grade you get.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

Don't have one. Sorry. Dies irae, dies ila, perhaps? Since Verdi took over everyone's life last semester...
