Hmmm. From what I can tell, it looks like it does everything except act as an address book, calendar, and allow you to read text files you put on there. The iPod also uses FireWire, not USB 2.0. A quick search on Google turned up <a href-"http://www.cwol.com/firewire/firewire-vs-usb.htm">this page</a>, which says that FireWire is faster. I have no idea if that's actually true, but the page's explanation makes sense.

Plus the Dell one isn't Mac-compatible. I couldn't use it anyway. ;)

I know that Firewire is faster than regular USB, but I thought USB 2.0 was supposed to be almost as fast. It's also something most PC's have, while few have Firewire cards.

Also, I've read that the PC integration of the I-POD leaves something to be desired. In addition, the best quality songs now use WMA format, something that the iPod doesn't support.

There's also the big price difference. Not that I'm in the market for an iPod like device, but it is significant.
