Writing and literary metaphors
May. 18th, 2004 10:51 amI hate it when I run into my own personal white whales. Ever have an idea that you desperately want to get onto paper, but no matter how many times you try, it never comes out as bright and shiny as it is in your head? I've got one of those right now...I've written the thing (~1000 words) three times now, from different points of view, tenses, etc. etc., while keeping the same basic concept, and no matter what I do, it just doesn't turn out. I hate it when this happens.

Second, this is the beauty of Nick-Type Procrastination. If you put it off long enough, the paper has to be good because you're not getting another shot at it. Although that might not be a good solution for an English major...
