I read the last three chapters or so, and only those

Harry and Ginny get married and have three kids: James, Albus and Lily.

Ron and Hermione get married and have kids who's names weren't as sickenly sweet so I don't remember them.

The Malfoy's say fuck you to Voldy and go after their son. Draco apparently didn't join the Order but said fuck you to Voldy as well.

Neville was awesome and stood up to Voldy and led the DA and was generally as awesome as was always believed to be.

Lupin, Tonks, Fred, and a whole slew of other people died. Lupin also had a son at some point in time.

Kretcher led the house elves against Voldy.

Dumbledore was morally bankrupt (but we knew this right?)


I think I got the pertinent points to be able to understand the oncoming wank.

UGH, glurgy happy endings with kids. Bah. I was thinking Harry was surely a goner, or at least Ron. (Although I hear Harry dies and is resurrected or something ridiculous like that?)

Harry does indeed die, to kill the part of Voldy's soul that is in him, and is resurrected.

Dumbledore was apparently in working with Grisewald (that evil wizard from WWII) before he went on his big campaign of terror. Also is responsible for his sister's death and attempted to get immortality. Also admitted to manipulating Harry.

Oh and at some point Snape was made headmaster of Hogwarts before he was killed. Thus the middle child is named Albus Severus Potter. *dies of sweet overload*

Not enough "gack!" in the world. Also, the other two are James and Lily, because...It's All About Harry? Maybe the middle names are Molly and Arthur.

One would think. I'm guessing that Ginny didn't have much say in the naming of the kids. Which is very sad.

It's not ridiculous in the context of the book, no offense. I thought it was brilliantly written, considering how many loose ends had been floating aroud.

So the epilogue is a bit sappy. The names are sickeningly sweet, but signify something. Harry names one of his sons after two of the hogwarts headmasters - Albus Severus - so that his son will not be ashamed of whichever house he chooses to belong to if the sorting hat gives him the same choice that it gave Harry.

I think the book deserves way more credit than a few sarcastic bulletpoints - I was pretty happy with the whole sevenhundredpagemonstrosity. :)

I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, although I generally find most resurrections to be unnecessary.

(Not enough benefit to read the book, seeing as I was pretty "eh" about the previous six and I have a lot of books on my to-read list, but...)

Among the dead: Mad-Eye Moody, Hedwig, Dobby, Fred, Lupin, Tonks, and Colin Creevey. Lupin and Tonks, of course, leave behind a newborn son.

George is now missing an ear.

Apparently Ron championing house elf rights gets Hermione really hot.

Snape is rather redeemy and both his and Dumbledore's choices are explained.

Yeah, I'm still not onboard with Lupin/Tonks. Dumbledore/McGonagall I can see though, in the sense that they had dated and were friends. Now I want to hug McGonagall. I can't imagine how many students she had to bury.

If it helps, that kind of happened backwards. He dies while we think he's evil and then it gets explained via misty bits and the Pensieve. Dumbledore comes off a right bastard for a while too.

Yeah, I see it like that, certainly. Although there have been a few fanfics which speculated that they'd lived quietly in sin since she started teaching at Hogwarts.
