BSG 4.02: Six of One
Apr. 11th, 2008 10:01 pmOof. So, as I suspected, the fact that Roslin's gunshot went wide, right into the photo of her and Adama, was definitely a sign of things to come. She's gonna be pissed when she inevitably finds out what he did. (Although really, isn't it the best option? Get her out of your hair, let her gather evidence to support her case...I'm not seeing much bad here.) But in the meantime...they're so, so married. Bwahahaha. I love it.
Interesting that Kara felt "like [she]'d been there before" about Earth. I still think she's some kind of Lord of Kobol reincarnated...or maybe she's a refugee from Earth and was adopted as a baby? Okay, maybe not.
So, we had some Cylon math tonight...and apparently they can't count? What's the deal with models 1-6 and 8 being known? Why the gap at 7? Hmm. Anyway, Cylon party, yay! We even got the hybrid. Excellent. I do love me some Cavil. Dean Stockwell = yay. Also, heh: "The final five..."/"Are anywhere but with the humans."/*cut to four Cylons with the humans*
Although they've raised more questions with their conversation...who forbid them to talk about the final five? The same person who programmed them, whoever that was? (God?) Also, why on earth did Six think the Centurions killing Cavil, Doral, and Simon do, oh, anything? Can they not regenerate? Aren't there zillions of other models hanging around the galaxy? What did this accomplish?
Speaking of Cylons, how do our four know that there are twelve models? I guess they tapped into the Cylon hivemind or something...
Gaaaaaaaaaah, poor Tory! Ewwww! Oh, that was a visceral shiver there. Ugh. But oooh, Baltar hears music (metaphorically, anyway). Of course, Baltar also talks to himself now, so that's worth precisely nothing in the Game of Cylonicity.
So Lee's getting Zarek to mentor him. INTERESTING! It also lends some more credence to my current top pick for Final Cylon: Zarek himself. (My theory is based on a pattern shown by the other Fivers: they are at the right hand of one of the main characters. Tory-->Roslin, Tigh-->Adama, Anders-->Kara, Tyrol-->Galatica herself/the common man. Zarek, as VP, was already a key servant to Baltar and Roslin, and if he's helping Lee find his feet in the Quorum, that just about rounds out the main human cast. HMMMM... Also, someone pointed out on TWOP that Leoben's "Adama is a Cylon" line from "Flesh and Bone" would become true, in a meta way*, if Zarek is the Cylon.)
Anyway. Lots of pieces got moved around the board this week. Next week, "all will be revealed." Raise your hand if you believe that. ...Thought not.
* For those who know nothing about the original BSG, Richard Hatch, who plays Zarek, played Apollo Adama in that series. "All of this has happened before..."

Date: 2008-04-12 04:02 pm (UTC)I would love for Zarek to be a Cylon. Love it.

Date: 2008-04-13 01:18 am (UTC)Also, my current frontrunner for the final Cylon is PapAdama. For a while I'd been thinking Lee, just because of the mindfrak that would be involved, with him being Bill's son and all. But then I got to thinking (don't ask what brought it to mind...), and I realized if PapAdama is the last Cylon, then Lee is like Hera--a hybrid baby. And he's just started moving into politics...so maybe he's got a destiny to lead a Cylon-Human alliance?

Date: 2008-04-13 03:10 am (UTC)My real bet is that Sharon was designated as 8 before any of this Final Five stuff was ever a twinkle in RDM's eye. ;)
I would be irritated at the buildup with Hera if it turns out Lee is the first hybrid. Yes, the Significant Seven might not know that and thus be making a big deal out of Hera, but it would render irrelevant all the hoopla surrounding her as far as a dramatic arc goes.

And I don't think it will take away from Hera's destiny to find out that Lee preceded her as a hybrid. I expect both have important, and different, roles to play in the future.

Date: 2008-04-14 12:29 am (UTC)I dunno about the Fantastic Four resurrecting. I assume they would, but who knows? They're weird. (I believe "Significant Seven" is from RDM; I found it online, anyway. I wish I could take credit for it!)

Date: 2008-04-14 12:43 am (UTC)I sort of wonder if maybe the Fantastic Four don't resurrect--otherwise, why would the Raiders have cared about shooting Anders? Hmmm...
