Spleeeeeeeeeeeeen!

theusual, you have reduced me to someone who has a hysterical giggling fit at the mere mention of the word "spleen," much less if it's possible that someone's spleen might rupture. Remind me never to take an anatomy course.
(And now I will stop spamming the LJ. Mmm-hmmm.)

There's part of me that assumes that everyone in the world is a comic geek.
I tried. Could never get into them. This is probably a good thing, 'cause now I don't have a fairly expensive habit to support.

I spend less on comics per month than my mom spends on cigarettes. Granted, that's still not inexpensive but it's better than it could be. I had so much more money before I got back into comics...

See, the good thing about a novel habit is that libraries usually get books I want to read, even if it takes a while. Not so with comics. If there were no libraries, only bookstores, I would far outstrip your spending. ;)

Yep. Because I like my reading material to have pretty pictures. It's a simple life I lead. :)

Or, if the description of Robin's outfit is any indication, not-so-pretty pictures...

Pretty pictures, ugly fashions. At least Robin has tights that go down to his ankles now. Not the tights that must have started the Batman/Robin subtext back in the 1930's.

What, did they stop at his knees or something, like the reverse of knee-high pantyhose? Going down to the ankles is cool, though; I kind of like footless tights better than footed ones, since you can wear socks with your dance shoes. Completely messes up your line, but hey, whatever... (Not that you know or care what I'm talking about, but I appear to have no control over my mouth today. Interesting.)

The original Robin costume was the red shirt (with green short sleeves), the black and yellow cape, green floppy gloves and boots, and what were basically green briefs. The entire legs were viewable. To be honest, it looked really gay.
As for your tight discussion I followed everything up to "messes up your line." And you should be able to control what you say here. Unless you type with your mouth, which could be entertaining.

Essentially, the leg should look like a straight line (no breaks in shape or color) to be more aesthetically pleasing, and footed tan tights with white socks, which is what I wore, don't do that.

Perhaps you can be Lieutenant Literal (oooh, alliteration) as well as Captain Obvious... ;)

So plaid tights would be out of the question? You know, I think about the line thing and it makes sense. Okay, not in the real world (at least not after the 80's), but for a dancer, I'll buy it.
I don't know why but this makes me think of architect fashion. If you get famous enough you can even get away with wearing a cape and nobody will question it until you've been dead for a while.

I kind of want to change "Captain Obvious" so it alliterates, but the best I can come up with is Captain Conspicuous and that just doesn't click.

Unless you're doing some sort of 80s musical...

Yep. Although making your leg line unbroken, and thus making you look taller, is the basis behind wearing pants, socks, and shoes of the same color, so that's kind of a real world application.

Or you can design really freaky-looking things and people will pay you bajillions of dollars to do it, too. (I have issues with Frank Lloyd Wright, who is basically the only architect I know.)

"Officer Obvious"? Not quite the same ring.

Ah, you see I don't need to make myself look taller. That's why it doesn't carry any personal meaning for me. I spend a good amount of time having people tell me to shrink in the first place.

Issues with Wright? You're breaking my heart, Becca. I can deal with Shaye not liking Wright, but you, too? (I will admit that he made his contractors use crap materials causing pretty much all of his buildings to need serious fixing. But the design itself is sound).

I advise that we abstain from adding to the abundant alliteration in this, err, situation. Damn. I couldn't find a synonym that began with an "A."

Not aesthetically pleasing. I'm into Victorian and Gothic type things, with lots of superfluous spires and towers and whatnot.

Only thing I can think of is "arguement," and while that is technically a synonym for "conversation," it has far fromt eh right connotations.

Wright not aesthetically pleasing? ::hyperventilates:: Need... paper... bag... Slow... breath... Whew. Oh well, to each their own. :)
Personally I love gothic and classical stuff (Victorian is okay) but I it's best to look at them. I'd love to live in a Wright home because they still look like somplace I'd like to live even though most of his stuff was built nearly 100 years ago.

I had even checked thesaurus.com and didn't find any "a" word that fit. That's why alliteration is an imperfect art.
