Heh. I've been looking forward to "Double Trouble in the Panhandle" since I saw spoilers on LJ, and it was certainly amusing, at least once I waved goodbye to dignity. (I cringed a lot during the "rocking the trailer" scene.)

Although my goodness, the logical fallacies abounded. They didn't, you know, rehearse the act before peforming it in front of an audience? Oh, these two fail so hard at being undercover. And are so amusing while doing so. :D

(Also, I'm going to guess someone on the staff was a fan of Carnivale? Granted, this didn't have the religious aspect, but there were definitely dirty freaks in the desert associated with a really crap carnival/circus.)

I still like Mr. Nigel Murray--finally, someone who shares my penchant for finding obscure trivia and trotting it out at inappropriate moments--but I do wish they'd just pick someone already.

I think I would've mostly liked "Fire in the Ice" if I hadn't been so distracted by the BLATANT UNBELIEVABILITY of Booth working the freaking case WHEN HE WAS A SUSPECT. *headdesk* I know reality doesn't really mesh with this show, but...seriously? This is as ridiculous as that interview in the Vomit Comet.

I did like Agent Perotta, though. She was, you know, competent, and also funny.

Didn't like that the case ended so quickly. The guy just confesses...that's it? Hmmm.

I'm with Brennan on not understanding anything about hockey. I assume the guy in Booth's dream is famous?

...although his character should totally know what "begging the question" really means, which is NOT WHAT HE THINKS IT MEANS. grrr

at least once I waved goodbye to dignity.

Oh, dignity, did they have to lock you up in an insane asylum, too? Has dignity been killing people and then gnawing on their faces?

(I cringed a lot during the "rocking the trailer" scene.)

I just cringed a lot, period. Good actors pretending to be bad actors hurts to watch.

Oh, these two fail so hard at being undercover.

ISN'T THERE SOME SORT OF FBI UNDERCOVER IQ TEST YOU HAVE TO PASS TO GET YOUR UNDERCOVER LICENSE??? Good LORD.

I still like Mr. Nigel Murray

Awww, my favorite is Wendell, with his kicked-puppy-ness. Although Mr. Nigel-Murray is quite nice, too.

if I hadn't been so distracted by the BLATANT UNBELIEVABILITY of Booth working the freaking case WHEN HE WAS A SUSPECT.

Ummmmmmm yeah. Why wasn't Caroline all over that??

This is as ridiculous as that interview in the Vomit Comet.

Nothing is that ridiculous, sorry.

The guy just confesses...that's it?

I know, I was like, "Oh, I get it, he's lying to cover for someone els- wait, seriously, it's that simple?" But I guess they had to deus ex machina to squeeze in all that Booth-playing-hockey time...

I assume the guy in Booth's dream is famous?

He looked awfully young to be OMG THE BESTEST HOCKEY PLAYER EVAR!!1!, but...

Speaking of OMG, was that coma-prevention at the end not cute? It was worrying, though, in that it was just like that one S2 ep of Doctor Who, where the Doctor and Rose are all, "Let's hold hands and talk about how we'll be together forever and ever just the same as always and AIEEE FALLING ANVILS FROM THE SKYYYYY!!!" Foreshadowing, much?

Yeah, he did. I wonder if it was an actor playing said hockey player in his prime. Maybe he's a dead guy?

-He does look a bit young but he's the real deal. Luc Robitaille played himself. He's in his early 40s. Retired in 2006. He holds the record for most goals and points by a left winger. So he is one of the best ever.

Wait, so are you equating Zack with dignity?

We see them both painfully infrequently?

*ba-dum-CHING*

Where were you hiding that drumset??

Poor Boreanaz has come so far since his Buffy days, though!

Brennan's not-Canadian-not-Southern-just-weird accent was pretty awful as well.

AWFUL.

I did like the "well, calling them Canadian will excuse all sorts of weird" approach...

(Did enjoy him picking up the blood samples on the ice and NO ONE NOTICING.)

ICE NINJA!

I don't know! She should've been! Grrrrrrr.

Remember back in the day when Caroline jumped down Hodgins's throat for touching evidence when he was a suspect? Sigh.

Maybe he's a dead guy?

Dunno, I got a "wheeee there's totally a famous hockey dude on our set!!!" vibe.

-you know if either of them wanders off, they'll just end up back together eventually.

Heh, yes. But I sense drama on that front approaching...

For all their faults, the producers are at least not going to disappoint on that respect.

They are not quite that dumb, at least. Hooray?

Well, this season we do, anyway...

WAS THAT A SPOILER OMG DON'T TELL ME!!

In my TARDIS-like pocket.

It has more cymbals on the inside than the outside?

E for Effort?

E+!

But luckily [info]vallentine is here to set us straight. :)

So helpful!

I actually really liked Perotta, so I would be okay with that.

She was indeed decent.

Luc Robitaille is a very famous hockey player. He retired a few years back after 19 years in the NHL. Keep in mind that two of the All Time Greatest NHL players are in their 40s. So it's not at unrealistic that Booth would be all excited and fan-boyish about seeing Robitaille. Especially since Robitaille played for the Penguins at one point in his career - Booth's favorite/hometown team.

I, too, very frustrated at Booth working the case since he was a suspect of sorts. But, yeah...

*was* very frustrated. Apparently I skip words when sick...

Not to mention he still has teeth which is quite an accomplishment after playing hockey for 30+ years of his life...

Glad to know I didn't disappoint in the hockey trivia arena. =D
