Today, another participatory bout of fannish navel-gazing!

I don't participate in the annual Remix challenge, because as I've said, challenges and fests and whatnot--anything with a deadline--make fic, which I write for fun, feel too much like work. (I like a big wall of separation between the two, okay?) However, that doesn't mean I don't sometimes wonder which one of my fics someone might remix, and if so, what they might do with it.

So, flist, which would you pick? If you also respond with a link to your fic (or post this in your journal), then I'll tell you which of yours I'd remix and how.

Mmmm. Sometimes I'm tempted to write more extensive fic in pretty much all of those scenarios. Yay AUs!

I'd be deeply, deeply tempted by Making Magic; that looks to me to just beg for Jack to one-up Sam's revelation with one of his own -- which gets him out of having Sam erase his memory. And I can think of a way to do it without making Jack a wizard....

And having chosen, I offer my AO3 page in return -- to which I've just now added an old and cracktastic SG-1 commentfic (severely backdated, in accordance with its original posting date) because I suddenly realized it wasn't there already.

Ooooh. That sounds really awesome. I'd read it if you wrote it!

For yours, I think I'll have to go with the SG-1 fic--I'd try and get them all into a situation in which qualities from their costume alter egos would be necessary--so Jack would have to MacGuyver something, Sam would need to use knowledge of world history/geography (and possibly figure out a way to actually steal the Eiffel Tower), Daniel and Janet would have to do...something Star Warsy, Teal'c would have to throw the rocks (which I suppose isn't really Charlie Brown's style, but hey)...

I think I'd remix "Dancing Without Music" - I'd definitely lengthen it, but I think I'd keep it in Meg's POV.

Yeah, it could stand to be lengthened, definitely.

For you, I think I'd remix "Maggie Dreams." What happens when she wakes up? (Or, ooh, what if Joel has similar dreams?)

Every Dance Like a Graph of the Heart.. or Basically most of your Fraser/Thatcher fics... You always have them like just almost there but never quite, and I was like NOOOOOO just a little further, write one more scene, continue writing, make longer, just something... so yeah. But that piece, definately.

On my "to do list" as are a number of other things.. but I am slowly but surely marking things off... I think it's like 57 on my to do list... so yeah... will get there eventually. *headdesk*
