Iiiiii have a copy of Cryoburn in my hot little hands! Of course, I haven't read a Vorkosigan novel since Diplomatic Immunity came out in 2002, so we'll see how much I've forgotten in the intervening years...

I also have a copy of Blackout, which has apparently been out for a while, but I didn't realize it. Making up for lost time! And then probably buying All Clear next.

(If only I had my Cordelia icon up on DW as well as LJ!)

Yay, new Connie Willis! Blackout was out in February, iirc, but now you can get it in paperback, so it's like you waited on purpose. :D

It's somewhere between Doomsday Book and To Say Nothing of the Dog - it's definitely not a comic novel like TSNotD, but not as heavy as DB, imo. I haven't read All Clear yet, but I did read Blackout in February and that's what I remember my impression being.

Colin from DB shows up in this one, although not in any major way, and of course Mr. Dunworthy is there being In Charge of Everything. That's all the continuity I can think of. *g*

I also talked with CW when she came by my bookstore to sign copies and she said she thinks of Blackout and All Clear as being more on the serious, Doomsday Book side of portraying time travel and history. Apparently her next planned time travel novel is a comic one like TSNotD, dealing with the Roswell UFO incident in 1947. So maybe read these two, and skip the next one?

I got Cryoburn today too! Except... while I was waiting for Miles in Love to arrive from Amazon, I... got distracted and bounced to another obsession? So now I have four books to read before I get to it? But I has it!! Yay!!

I also have a copy of Blackout, which has apparently been out for a while, but I didn't realize it. Making up for lost time! And then probably buying All Clear next.

Is All Clear out yet? I saw that Blackout was the first of a pair, and I figured I'd be super-frustrated if I wasn't able to pick up the sequel/second half right after I finished the first part, so I haven't bought anything yet.
