Meme from [livejournal.com profile] gamesiplay:

Step 1: Put your music player on shuffle.
Step 2: Post the first line (or first and second line if it's completely impossible) from the first 30 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
I was doing okay with this, and then I ran into a string of them where the title was in the first line, and got tired of skipping them, so I started just pulling lines from the middle. And I went with three or four lines where I felt like it.
Step 3: Strike out the songs when someone guesses both artist and track correctly. (Artist isn't important on covers, though, 'cause that's just unfair.)
Step 4: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!
Step 5: If you like the game post your own!

I think 19 is Soul Meets Body by Death Cab for Cutie, and is 12 Particle Man by They Might Be Giants?

23 is "Just Like Heaven," but I can't remember the artist. Or maybe you're listening to a cover?

I have no guesses, because my musical range is weird and eclectic and utterly bizarre. Put it this way: I tried this on what I've got loaded into my computer's media player, and the results were...eclectic. After a good deal of skipping to avoid using more than one song by the same artist, I judge at most two-thirds of the list to be even semi-reasonably guessable. I am horribly tempted to put the list up purely to demonstrate how wildly obscure a lot of the material is....

25 is Sarah McLachlan, Path of Thorns (Terms). Originally from "Solace," redone on "Mirrorball" (and probably others). ♥

And now I'm listening to it, because I'd forgotten how much I love that song.

And 20 is going to drive me crazy, because I'm sure I should know it, but I can't recall. Argh.

I can't remember anymore what I wrote fanfic to listening to her, but her stuff is definitely good for fanfic. And yeah, I can totally see Mulder/Scully to that song. Awww.

I can absolutely assure you that you know it. It's by someone we both like a lot.

Oh!

#1 is "Under Pressure" - Queen. And that line is from the middle, which is why I knew I knew it but I just couldn't make it be the first line of anything. (Thank you, Rock Band.)

#4 is also a line from "Leaves That Are Green" by Simon & Garfunkel, but apparently it's also a line from another song as well. Do I get partial credit?

I think it's Stan Rogers, but I'm not positive.
