I voted for several things, but one of them was "write some other kind of fiction/fan fiction" ...and because I am dreadfully selfish and will soon be able to read BSG fic (!!!) I would love to see what you would do with that.
*Coughs* Happy fic preferred, of course. Perhaps Roslin/Adama? ♥
Oh, man. I haven't watched the show since the finale aired a year and a half ago; I'm not entirely sure how I'd manage it. Though I might be able to do something AU, and really short and vague...
Go here (http://writingenglish.wordpress.com/2006/09/12/the-25-funniest-analogies-collected-by-high-school-english-teachers/) and pick the metaphor that you like best (or the one that inspires you the most, whatever), reword it a bit, and use it in a fan fiction for the fandom of your choice (I personally vote Castle or Due South - the first because I miss the banter, and the second because I could almost hear Ray K saying a few of them in my head). Bonus if you can get an Amelia Peabody ref in there somewhere. ;)
Then, of course, post it somewhere I can read it. :D
Oh, man, I don't know you, but thank you for posting that link. Because this:
11. From the attic came an unearthly howl. The whole scene had an eerie, surreal quality, like when you’re on vacation in another city and Jeopardy comes on at 7:00 p.m. instead of 7:30.
just happened to me recently. Right down to the times. Jeopardy's on at 7:00 where I am now and 7:30 where I came from, and it is indeed really eerie to me. :)
Hee! I never watch Jeopardy, so I've never experienced this particular brand if eerie. I did, however, move from Wisconsin to Washington State about 8 months ago - CST to PST, and *everything* comes on an hour later now. The local news is what took me the longest to get used to; after twenty-five years of "... all of that coming up on News at 10", having it suddenly at 11 just messed with my head.
