Oh Olivia. This is a really contemplative song for her. I really like the juxtaposition of the "stay calm" moments where's facing such incomprehensible things with her badassery and the way she just hurtles herself after bad guys and bad things to stop them. I haven't been loving the last few episodes of Fringe because I really miss this Olivia, and it was lovely to have her back for this vid. :)

Thank you! The juxtaposition of the "calm" moments and the faster piano parts was what drew me to the song in the first place, so I'm glad I managed to reflect that contrast in the vid.

I felt the same way when I was doing my rewatch of the series earlier this month. S4 has been cool on a detached, intellectual level, but I really miss Blue!Olivia.

I really love this. "Stay calm" really works for her, and then she bursts out with badass in the faster piano parts and almost seems like she's dancing. And then I love the end where's she walking forward to look out the window in the redverse exactly on the piano notes. I miss this Olivia.

Thanks! I really liked the "stay calm" for her too; there are dozens of little moments where she's just kind of reacting to all the weirdness being thrown at her, and I think it's so awesome that she just kind of takes a moment to go "OMG" and then gets down to (ass-kicking) business.

I miss this Olivia.

This is utterly gorgeous. I wouldn't have thought of Innocence Mission for Olivia, but there's a quiet steel strength to their tone which makes their music a great fit for her. I love the way the instrumental sections become Olivia's fight, her dance, the physicality of the way her character moves in the world.

Thank you! Pretty much since I heard this song for the first time a few months ago, I was convinced it was an Olivia vid, largely because I thought her way of moving (and the way they film the show) would look so good with the instrumental sections. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I really enjoyed this. It worked so well. You did a beautiful job of highlighting how wonderfully competent Olivia is. I wouldn't have thought the 'be calm' refrain would have gone so well with all the action, but it really worked to illustrate how she is collected enough to act decisively, rather than passive. I love Olivia to bits and I love this for reminding me of one of the chief reasons why.

This is so brilliant - I love the song and the cutting catch the show build of the show and Olivia's life, and intersperse so cleanly with the occasional bits of plain crazy she's seen. I also like this title - it plays down when she's just being Agent o'Doom, and plays up that, even with all the powers, tricks, and whatnot, she's still human.

Mwahaha, you have FOUND MY SECRET. I treat every vid as a piece of choreography, and this was no exception. I always want every kind of movement to look right next to each other. (Fringe was unusually helpful not only because of Olivia's physicality, but because someone behind the scenes is extremely fond of slowly rotating the camera counterclockwise around the scene, which handily provides a coherent sense of movement.)
