So, um...anyone seen this pic from "Affinity"?

*wibble*

Tell me this is not what I think it is. Please. Even if it is what I think it is. Because eek.

(Oh! Did I just figure out what the "meow boom" referred to on various LJs was? OMG...there are some days I'm really glad I don't belong to any Stargate lists or boards, with the exception of SJFic. I can only imagine the kerfluffle happening...)

Don't worry, Becca, they're just trying to psych us out. NO WAY will she say yes! That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Hee. :)

There is intense kerfuffle, yes. And for once, I don't blame the kerfuffle-causers. This is a perfectly valid basis for kerfuffle.

I'm also kinda worried she's going to say 'yes'. They need a way to cool down the S/J, because there's no way they can keep it at the level of season 7 without just going ahead and getting them together. What would be a more effective way of cooling it down than making Jack think she'd lost interest? Getting engaged to another man would certainly do that.

I don't think the wedding'll go ahead, but I think she might agree to the engagement at least temporarily.

At which point I will throw many, many tantrums.

Hmph.

I'm agreeing with almost everything you're saying, but at the same time I can't help but remember JAG. Brumby wasn't right for Mac, and she got engaged to him too soon, but she realised she'd done the wrong thing and called it off.

I don't think Sam'll actually marry him, but it wouldn't surprise me if she said yes. She's had a really shitty time, and the one person she wants to comfort her and make things better would get court martialled if he did. Pete's there, he cares about her, and compared to the way she's been having to hold her feelings about Jack inside as best she can, even if her feelings for Pete aren't nearly as strong it must feel good to just be allowed to let them out there.

I think she knows she doesn't love him, but at this point she's possibly just so sick of being on her own that she's going Mac's route of, "Well, he's a good guy, he loves me, and I'm sure my feelings'll grow in time".

There's something to be said for being an independent woman, who doesn't need a man, but then there's experiencing intense loneliness, and just wishing you had some of what all the happy people seem to have.

Oh God, I'm talking myself into believing she'll say yes.

HMM...

Well in several previous episodes like the one in Season 5(?). Carter is married and her and her husband are trying to have kids but turns out that they are one of 90% of humans that can't have children, and they send a message back in time, you sense there is some tension between Carter and O'Neill because of it.

me again, forgot to say more. I think if she has done it before she might do it again, although I have only seen up to Season 5 so I don't know if there love grows stronger, where as in season 5 is based on feeling up to the point... I do not want her to get hooked up with these guys, but just look at all the guys that she has attracted. That Tok'ra guy (Martus?), there was something there in season 5 4th DVD in the season (the one where there is destruction at the Tok'ra base and Anubis is introduced, Summit). And what about that psycho alien that can turn into that glowing white thing, she started liking him... I am just waiting for Narim and O'Neil bring out their guns and fight for her. Man she gets all the guys... But truthfully Narim is not good for her, but O'Neill, I like him, I find it cute when he tries to understand and help out. (Sorry reminds me of my bf, he is like Jack and I am like Carter...) Oh does anybody notice, that in the first four seasons, the engineer and scientist (excluding doctors) are female and blonde, doctors are female and brunette, Anthropologists are male with brown hair. And all the damn politicians are old white men. I just found it amusing. It is slowly changing but when they introduce someone of different physical appearence they are the ass holes, like in 48 hours that physics guy was totally grrr... arrogant. Blah.... This is Brittney by the way, a friend of Becca's in Highschool.
