I'm agreeing with almost everything you're saying, but at the same time I can't help but remember JAG. Brumby wasn't right for Mac, and she got engaged to him too soon, but she realised she'd done the wrong thing and called it off.

Yeah, but crucial difference: SG-1 writers aren't manipulative bastards. Usually. ;) But yes, I see what you're saying.

I think she knows she doesn't love him, but at this point she's possibly just so sick of being on her own that she's going Mac's route of, "Well, he's a good guy, he loves me, and I'm sure my feelings'll grow in time".

Auuugghhh! Such a bad way to start a marriage! But y'know, I can sort of see Sam thinking that. In her crazier moments.
