Fell down again this morning. Really, really need to quit doing that. This time it was on a crack in the sidewalk leading away from Peirce, where I had breakfast, toward Ascension, which is where my first class is. Yeah. My knees still hurt, and I'm not sure the khaki-colored jeans I'm wearing will ever fully recover. Sigh.

In other news, I'm only about a third of the way through the longest day ever(tm). Ugh. Still have two classes, Writing Center training, and the ballroom officers' meeting. Then I get to go to my room, make a poster design for the swing/salsa dance this Friday, and then go to more ballroom practice! Maybe I should take a nap with this little hour I have left before my 1:10...

Note to self: no more on the overcommittment. Days like today will not happen again. The three T/Th classes in a row are bad enough; adding writing center orientation and ballroom officers' meeting on to that was so not cool. Thank god that was only this one day and won't happen again.

Now that I have iTunes 4, and a good number of the Mac users on campus do as well, I've discovered the joys of listening to other people's playlists over the network. Woke myself up this morning with The Clash, and unfortunately got "London Calling" stuck in my head for the entire day. But it was still good.

And now I have ballroom practice (social tonight) in an hour. Just finished the poster design for our swing/salsa dance this Friday, which I hopefully won't be too dead to attend. Must go to print shop tomorrow and get posters printed up.

SALSA!

More social practice tonight. We did salsa for the newbies, since Friday is our annual swing/salsa dance. (Well, okay. Last year it was just swing, but you get the idea.) Old girl members didn't really get to dance, since we had a decent amount of guys if we stayed out of it, so we did. It was good to brush up, though--I think I finally have the hips down! WHEEEE!!! Of course, salsa is the one Latin-esque dance where it's fast enough that all the effect of hip movement is lost unless you're really good, or so it seems to me. Augh. But at least I finally have it! Yay!

And of course, now I have the samba song (all I know is that it's in Spanish and "falda," or skirt, plays a large role in the lyrics, which are almost fast enough to be rappish) that Ksenia was using as a very slow salsa all night stuck in my head. Yes, we attempted samba to it. We all (sophomore members) categorically suck at samba. Definitely the most difficult Latin dance. Meep.
