Since we always seem to be arguing about what to call a carbonated beverage at school, here's a study on what people across the nation call them.

Personally, I go for "coke" (even if it's Sprite, it's coke, dangit!). Most of the nation goes for "soda," followed by "pop." Crazy Midwesterners. I gotta say, whenever someone says something along the lines of "I'm putting pop in the fridge," I think "You're putting your grandfather in the refrigerator? What?"

Anyway. There you have it--the New Englanders and Middle Atlantic types win. Sigh. There's so many of y'all...

And then, if you happen to be Australian, you barely say any of them. We say 'coke' if the drink is actually coke, but apart from that, it is 'soft drink'. Preferably the name of the drink.

Soda? Pop? Uhhh, no. *g*
