Since we always seem to be arguing about what to call a carbonated beverage at school, here's a study on what people across the nation call them.

Personally, I go for "coke" (even if it's Sprite, it's coke, dangit!). Most of the nation goes for "soda," followed by "pop." Crazy Midwesterners. I gotta say, whenever someone says something along the lines of "I'm putting pop in the fridge," I think "You're putting your grandfather in the refrigerator? What?"

Anyway. There you have it--the New Englanders and Middle Atlantic types win. Sigh. There's so many of y'all...

I generally call it coke.

Of course, pretty much the entire population of Britain calls it "fizzy pop." =)

*snerk*

See, we never ever call it soda - I didn't even know what soda was until I asked Vaidah over the phone one time. She burst out laughing when I told her we called it "fizzy pop."
