O_O
Just finished Blackout. Am fifth on the waiting list for All Clear at the library. Don't think I can hold out that long. (It's not exactly a cliffhanger, and I think I've figured out one of the big mysteries, but there are definitely things I NEED ANSWERS to.)
This one definitely reminded me more of Doomsday Book than To Say Nothing of the Dog, which was all for the good. In fact, aside from Passage, which I'm not sure she'll ever top for me, I think it's my favorite of Willis's books.

Not so much with the shipping, but there is Karrin/Dresden banter, which is always fun. The Doctor (I think it's supposed to be 10) wasn't quite as in character as I hoped, either, but I figure it was still a fun read

Date: 2010-10-27 05:43 pm (UTC)Blackout, at least, is not nearly as tragic as Passage or even Doomsday Book, but it is more serious than TSNotD. Without giving the plot away, I can say that there are a lot of tense moments that don't necessarily add to the body count.
However, I think we can all agree that the writing is amazing, even if we don't have the same style preferences.
Indeed!
