First of all, happy 11/11/11, everyone!

Spoilers )
icepixie: ([Burn Notice] Mike Fi thought bomb)
1. I discovered a really good gyros place near my house. OM NOM NOM. They use ranch dressing instead of tzatziki, which never occurred to me but is delicious. Also the meat is really good, and they use incredibly tasty tabouleh as one of the toppings.

2. I went to Radnor Lake today and saw a deer! Sadly, I only got one halfway-decent shot of her, and the rest were of deer butt. Nevertheless, wildlife! I took about 120 pictures total and haven't managed to sort through them yet, but once I do, I'll put them up.

3. Burn Notice returns tomorrow night! I had sort of forgotten they even had a winter season, so this is an unexpected bonus for my week!

4. Apparently Jamie Bamber is going to be guest-starring on Body of Proof as a love interest for Megan starting late this month. I was never a fan of Lee (as I recall, he was the one character I consistently thought BSG could do without), but it was more the character's fault than Bamber's, so this should be...interesting. Also, quid pro quo since Dana Delany guest-starred in an S2 episode of BSG? Anyway, please please please, show, have Ethan make a reference to his amazing resemblance to a certain Viper pilot, or some kind of joke that plays on his BSG background!

5. Fringe Friday in two days! Things I am hoping this episode addresses or includes: under a cut; all speculation, no spoilers )

Relatedly, news from the scheduling front: counting this week, only three episodes are going to air this month before the EIGHT-WEEK HIATUS ARGH until January 13th. This means episode eight, the original fall finale, won't air until January. On the one hand, it's certainly going to be a cliffhanger, and this way, we'll only have to wait a week for the resolution instead of eight or nine weeks. I might have a shred of sanity left by the end of the hiatus. On the other hand, from the title alone I am expecting big things from that episode, and now I will just have two more months to build up unreasonable expectations. (Granted, only once or twice has Fringe failed to live up to my expectations, but still.)
icepixie: ([Fringe] Vulcan)
*sporfle* Um, at least the Fox promo monkeys are demonstrating a sense of humor about the baseball preemption? (Spoilerphobes, there is a scene in there that wasn't in the preview, but if it's integral to the episode, I'll be damned if I can figure out how. This is almost certainly less spoily than the regular preview they aired after the most recent episode.)

Also, there is this entertaining graphic.

*

In completely other news, have a scary link for Halloween. Reading that at two in the morning last night was...a mistake.

(I'm also quite fond of the Russian parodies.)
icepixie: ([B5] Ivanova facepalm)
Noooooooo, Texas, you failed us! Because of the need for a tie-breaking seventh World Series game, this week's episode of Fringe is officially bumped to next Friday. Arrrggghhh, I hate baseball!

/hyperbole

(Although I really do dislike baseball. And pretty much all spectator sports. *snooooore*)

(Also, the Fringe tag at tumblr is kind of hilarious right now. It's wall-to-wall gifs of sobbing characters and cartoon animals and angry ranting at the Rangers, along with threats of encasing St. Louis in amber.)
icepixie: ([Fringe] Vulcan)
For the first time in my life, I find myself rooting for a particular team to win the World Series. Apparently Game 6 of the Series, originally scheduled for tonight, was canceled due to rain, which bumps the potential Game 7, originally scheduled for tomorrow, to Friday. Since Fox airs the damn things, this would of course affect the new episode of Fringe. I can't tell from this or any other article I've read whether that means they would air Fringe at 2:30 in the morning or some ridiculous time, or if they would just bump every episode back a week so that we don't get "Novation" until next Friday. It sounds like it might the latter, though.

HOWEVER, if the Texas Rangers win the game tomorrow night, they win the Series, and there is no Game 7. Thus, there is Fringe.

Gooooooooo Rangers!

According to the cast list at IMDB, there's going to be a Fringe/SpongeBob SquarePants crossover episode. Josh Jackson plays Peter, Leonard Nimoy voices William Bell, and oddly, John Noble is playing someone called "Boris," as well as Boris's alternate. Because obviously this would involve an alternate universe! Anna Torv and Lance Reddick were voices (character names suggest they're unrelated to their Fringe characters) in another yet-to-air episode.

Since there's no new episode tonight (wah!), have a fic. :)

Title: Double Exposure
Rating: G
Word Count: 2,200
Summary: "The memories are fading, as Walter said they would." Speculation on how the two timelines might eventually be resolved, mostly in regards to Olivia, Nina, and that bombshell they dropped on us in "Subject 9."

She feels a little like Alice in Wonderland, most days. )
icepixie: ([Fringe] Vulcan)
Wait...what?

[Joshua] Jackson is genuinely touched by the fan support "Fringe" receives and has become so attached to Peter, he's dreamt up "tons and tons and tons" of story ideas and plot points to further flesh out the character.

So he wrote Fringe fanfic in the form of a comic book series. Bwahaha! He is such a fanboy! I don't usually care about actors, but I might have to love this guy a little bit.

There are dinosaurs, among other things. It seems that there are two timelines: one (with dinosaurs) that fills in the blanks about how Peter and Walter spoilers for the end of S3 ), and another in...I dunno, Greenverse or something where the native Peter never died, and now that he's a teenager (a really dorky teenager), he "escapes his father for a 'night on the town,'" where he runs into teenage!Olivia. This storyline is written by someone else. Relevant cap.

...Yeah, I figured that last one was worth 99 cents even though I don't like comics, so I downloaded it. It's...really bad. Worse than I was expecting even given that it's a TV tie-in and those are almost never good. Although I do feel like the image of teenage!Olivia kicking a drunk Harvard fratboy in the face with her big, clunky Doc Martens while teenage!Peter looks on all lovestruck is probably worth what I paid for it.

I rewatched the Fringe pilot (aka "the episode where everyone hates on Olivia") this week. Oh man, it is such a different experience after three seasons of the show!

Blather. Spoilers through the aired episodes of S4. )

Pssst, mine flisters who want a new sci-fi show (or just an AWESOME show), let me hook you on this one! You won't regret it. :D
icepixie: ([Fringe] Olivia in a hat)
Title: Monkey Say, FBI Agent Do
Rating: PG
Summary: When objects with animal faces start telling Olivia to "bring him home," she goes to the one person who might have insight into what's going on: Jaye Tyler.
Word count: 5,000
Spoilers: Through Fringe 4x03, "Alone in the World."
Note: Pretend there was a weekend before the last scene of 4x03. That's when this is set. It also takes place seven years after the final episode of Wonderfalls.

I'm not crazy. I actually have a certificate from one of the best psychiatrists in the state to that effect. )

For those of you who aren't into Fringe (and if not, WHY NOT?), I promise I will...well, not get over this recent obsession, exactly, but definitely stop spamming you quite so much in the near future. You know, once I've mined the internet for everything great that's Fringe-related and posted it here.

Anyway, this...this is amazing. And I say this as someone who always hated the FF themesong, and was never actually very fond of the show itself. Fringe credits, Firefly style.

Also, Fringe credits in the style of The X-Files, which is maybe even better.

And we can't forget credits for Fridge, an SNL-style parody.

Also, someone on Tumblr made the graphic we all needed that shows the mirroring of spoiler for the most recent episode ) and RedLincoln/Redlivia from "Alone in the World" and "Bloodlines," respectively.

Finally, this tumblr in general. Anna Torv and Josh Jackson are very pretty people. And it make me happy that the whole cast appears to be having a lot of fun.

And now I am going to bed, even though I have approximately ten zillion comments in my inbox to reply to, because I just wrote 4,500 words of fic in a little over fourteen hours, WHAT EVEN IS THIS.

(It is in fact a Fringe/Wonderfalls crossover. Which, insanely, is finished in rough draft form even though I just started it this morning. I think at some point I just started taking dictation from Olivia and Jaye...)
icepixie: ([Fringe] Vulcan)
Have I mentioned lately how happy I am that there exists a show where the epic romance is key to the very sci-fi story arc? Because I love that. And I love Olivia, and Peter, and Olivia/Peter. Thus, this vid.

Title: In a Barrel at Sea
Artist: Hem
Pairing: Olivia, Olivia/Peter
Length: 1:48
Summary: "Let the storms keep rising wherever I go / As long as you're here with me."

If you watch, I'd love to know what you think!
